About Astra Soulfeather

Who is Astra Soulfeather?

Astra is a speaker, writer & advisor who leads experienced professionals to create wildly successful, distinctive and innovative work by giving them insight they’ve never heard before, based on 10,000+ hours examining the human condition.

Their study has led to over 2,000 hours teaching, coaching and facilitating, plus published writing, keynotes and conferences, peer-reviewed research, digital content and working with 60+ brands as a communication professional - as well as living on a commune, in a warehouse, and with the Hare Krishna monks.

Astra's Background

Since their first startling spiritual experience at the age of 17, Astra (they/them) has been on a journey to understand and appreciate the human condition: what it means to live a meaningful life, and why we are here on the planet.

After turning 30 and officially embarking on a path of research and experimentation, Astra's 10,000+ hours of study has encompassed a diverse range of philosophies and practices in an attempt to discover faith, fulfilment and purpose without dogma, which stands up to critical analysis, and which can compassionately embrace the complexity of human suffering - include the childhood emotional neglect, teenage sexual trauma, late-diagnosed neurodiversity and periods of deep depression that have been part of Astra's life.

Their formal study includes linguistics, contemporary history, systems thinking, design, applied arts, social history of art (blending anthropology, politics, economics and the study of art objects), consumer behaviour, human sustainability, trauma-informed coaching, journal therapy, shadow work, nonviolent communication, tantra, and somatic practice for trauma recovery. Astra's esoteric studies include methods from Celtic and Ancient British spirituality, Hindu kirtan, Quaker silent worship, shamanic journeying, tropical astrology, divination with Tarot and the I Ching, Human Design, crystal healing, Christology and Bible studies, plant medicine, Law of Attraction, and ecstatic dance forms.

Astra has spent over 2,000 hours teaching, coaching and facilitating, worked with 60+ brands as a communication specialist - including NatWest, AXA, Amazon, Lean In, and many more lifestyle and retail brands - and has taught marketing, branding, communication and creative practice at undergraduate and postgraduate level. They have presented their research on the purpose of education in a time of climate crisis at conferences in the UK, Europe, the US, and to sector-leading bodies like EAUC and GuildHE, and in 2022 the were published by Palgrave Macmillan.

In 2024, after travelling in Europe, Astra spent time living in a Hare Krishna monastery, where they had a moving audience with Svayam Bhagavan Keshava Swami and a profoundly healing vision while practising japa. Following this, Astra became part of an intentional living community in rural Wales for six months, tending to the vegetable garden each day, raising chickens and caring for the community's children.

It was here that Astra changed their name from the one they were given at birth, and consolidated their own purpose here on earth: to bring all they had learnt - and continue to learn - to the places where that insight was most needed; to cut through the repetitive, mediocre 'business as usual' advice that keeps people and organisations repeating the mistakes of the past so that everyone who hears and applies Astra's wisdom finds purpose, fulfils their potential, and experiences wild, untamed success.
